Program goals:
- To establish and develop a sense of civic and personal responsibility and commitment.
- To tap into the dormant business interests of youth and begin their own entrepreneurial endeavors
- The establishment and understanding of the intertwined nature of human kind and the need for their being dedicated to the betterment of all.
- The fostering of greater dedication to studying, self mastery and a desire to be a more intelligent human being.
This program is based upon the principles, philosophies and learned lessons of life that makes a person successful individual who is better able and more inclined to fulfill their social responsibilities and live up to their obligations toward society at large.
There is no debate among the many her in Omaha, Nebraska that the youth needs to be reached, that more needs to be done to change the dire circumstances that have stricken many heartland families and within the minds of too many youth. There are many sets available at the table of social uplift. Not any 1 person or any 1 program will make all the difference. It is in recognition that 1 person cannot do everything but that all people CAN do something, that the P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. to P.O.W.E.R. workshop series is born. I am just 1 man doing what I can where I can. This is me, living up to my obligations toward society and fulfilling my social responsibilities. Your advertising dollars with up help make this possible.
Learning Outcomes:
- A greater developed cadre of young leaders with critical-thinking skills who will share their knowledge and skills and make a positive impact on the world.
- An increased student awareness concerning the important issues of our time facing our world.
- A more enlightened, socially and self conscious individual committed to continuous learning and personal development.
A learning outcome will be the greater development of a cadre of young leaders better skilled in the fine arts of conflict negotiation, intercultural diplomacy, critical thinking, entrepreneurship and innovative creativity. A signature point of note of the P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. to P.O.W.E.R. Program is a to address the real and critical need here in the community. I do this, this program does achieves this through the positive development of other extremely dedicated change agents who go on to do good through their own life transformational programs of their own creation.
Many of the program lessons will a prepared and structured debate among the youth who are in attendance to achieve three aims first to enhance the verbal and intellectual skillsets of program attendees making them more effective communicators with a new sense of intellectual problems solving. Second, a honing of improvisation ability and reading comprehension through live competition amongst peers for prizes of value further galvanizing the participants own initiative of towards advanced intellectual engagement. Finally because I think Debate is fun! I’ve always loved it since being on my high school debate team and believe that there are too many youth lacking the opportunity to reap the benefits of skilled oration and verbal combat. The mentalities of those youth participating will be invigorated like never before and will be better able to traverse the arduous road that is self-discovery.
Faith is taking the first step without first seeing the staircase.
